Introduction
The basis of Safe19’s Privacy Policy is to protect individual anonymity to the maximum possible extent.
Data Collection
Safe19 App collects a list of locations that may pose an infection risk for given date and time. This is collected via the location information from those people who have tested positive for the infection. These are known as HOT locations. No personal identifiers are kept with HOT locations data.
Location Data
No Location data will be collected by GPS, Wireless or Bluetooth services.
Data Accuracy
The Safe19 system calculates risk at each location based upon a number of factors including:
Size of venue
Type of venue
Number of people at venue
Pattern of behaviour at venue.
Carrier Infection cycle day count
The risk algorithm is continually being refined by looking at the pattern of transmission in venues and between venues.
Data Retention
Anonymous location data will be retained to investigate patterns of of transmission between different locations over a period of time. No personal identifiers will be kept with this data.
Data Disclosure
Site data will only be disclosed to the relevant Site Manager. No personal identifiers will be supplied with this data.
Personal Risk Management
The Safe19 system in common with every other system can only estimate your risk of having been in a situation with an infection risk. It is never a binary YES /NO answer as to whether you have a risk and whether or not you have contacted the infection.
The simple equation is the less people you have contact with, the less chance you have of catching or passing on a virus. Adapt this equation to you real world situation as much as is practical.
